Guess who

Can you guess who this masked man is?

Here are some guesses...

He owns a shop.
He finds old motorcycles and makes them look all nice and pretty when he's finished with them.
He sports old school Ray-Ban's.

Did you guess?

It's my hubby, working away as he always does. He is now doing his own paint work, which means more work for him, but it also means this man can do anything he puts his mind to.

together

The boys were running around the house after dinner. Jonas made up a game where the big, bad alligator (the vacuum) was trying to get he and Angus. It was cool to see them playing together. I remember when it was just Jonas, just one, and now there are two little ones running around.
Playing.
Together!

Now Jonas has a buddy, one that will do whatever he does. Angus might not understand what they are playing, but he knows,
"Oh, i have to chase brother into the room, because it looks like lots of fun."

Earlier today, Angus was taking Jonas' markers, then he'd look back as he walked away, to see if Jonas was going to chase him. Jonas did chase him. It turned into a game. One which had them both laughing at each others reactions.

During the alligator game, Jonas was crawling inside his whale hamper, telling Angus to help him. Angus climbed on top of him and I said while vacuuming, "Angus, help brother. Help him."
"He is helping me mom, he's protecting me," Jonas said.
I love to see them like this. It just makes me feel really good. This is what it's supposed to feel like.

After all that chasing and laughing we had watermelon for dessert. We sat at the table, Angy in his highchair and we ate 'till our bellies were full of sweet watermelon. A perfect ending to a sweet night.

Irrigation babies

Grandma Patricia invited us over to get wet in the yard.

peaches, peaches

Our cute little peach tree produced these beautiful tiny peaches and they are oh, so good. Jonas just ate five. We had to pick them before the birds got to them first. Angus will bite into one and then spit it out, then he throws them in the street.  He's not allowed to have anymore.

Double

One meaty evening

Jonas had a great dinner idea this evening while at my mom & dad's house. A barbecue. Hot dogs and hamburgers, of which I had both. So did everyone else, except Angus. He does not like hot dogs. We sat by the small barbecue grill and waited for our food to be ready. Uncle Ambi hit his punching bag and grandma Stella got all the stuff ready.  Angus played on the trampoline all by himself, while Jonas talked to grandpa about cooking.  Then he told him he was the "best grandpa" and I can't remember why he said it, but it sure was sweet. Grandpa was happy to hear that!

every day

Another Saturday, another day, spent looking at all the clutter around the house. The laundry I have not put away and the new piles I have to wash, the toys in every room, the vaccuming I have not done, the dishes in the sink, the dust on the floor, the mopping, the front yard and back yard - ugh!

It's enough to make me feel a little overwhelmed. It's not a lot, but that's how I feel. Then on top of that, the most important job of all, to make sure two little boys are happy, fed, napped, changed, carried...

I also play with them, because I can't just ignore them when they ask me to paint with them or when jonas asks me to have a .50 toy yard sale.

I need a really strong coffee to get me through. I will put angus down for his nap, then start in the kitchen and go from there. Jonas can play while I get into cleaning mode.

Sigh.

Here I go!

Happy 30!

To my hubby on his birthday,

I wish you the happiest day ever and many, many, many more birthdays to follow! Thank you so much for everything you do for our little family. You are a wonderful man with a kind heart that is full of love.

I know how hard you work everyday just to keep your family feeling comfy.

You are the one who makes us feel safe when dinosaurs roar at museums, the teacher of fishing, the one who digs the dirt for planting gardens, the one to trim nails when mom doesn't, the one who teaches little ones about nature and its beauty, the builder of cool motorcycles, the one who helps throw bowling balls down the lanes, the one to make tricycles go faster, the one who jumps in the pool when a little one is begging for him to go in, the one who makes us feel safe all the time and all the other many things you do.

Thank you for being YOU!

Happy Birthday!

We love you,
Mona, Jonas and Angus.

Windy BBQ

We had a BBQ on Sunday. Everything was delicious, but it was really windy that day and a little chilly, for me anyway. We ate our burgers and salad outside.

Jonas washed his bike really good. He scrubbed it and I was his assistant. I hosed the soap off of it.

Angus was happy just playing with the water. Did I mention it was cold and these boys were soaked. If my mother knew, I would be in big trouble.

Jeremiah cooked the burgers and chicken and I prepared my most favorite salad. Yummy! It's so good.

Jonas said, "Your salad isn't good mom." "It's not?" I said. "Just kiddin'" he says. What a trickster!

Angus had goose bumps and Jonas kept saying he was cold and Jeremiah said it wasn't and I kept insisting that we should go inside but no one would follow me in.

I am outnumbered.
